Lending Collection to move next week
The Lending Collection of the Rockhampton Library will be unavailable from 25 – 29 October, 2010 while it is moved from Building 10 to Building 39.
The Library will remain open for study in Building 10 until Friday, 29 October, 2010, however patrons are advised to take care on Level 1 as the removalists will be moving heavy containers.
This move is earlier than expected, but will mean that both our temporary service points will be open from 1 November, 2010.
The Resource & Access Services staff have already moved to Building 41 and Information Services are expected to move next week. The Secretariat have moved to Building 37.

Farewell to the orange carpet
Closing Parties
Past and present library staff, as well as invited guests from the university and wider community, enjoyed celebrations on 30 October to mark the 'closing' of the Bruce Hiskens Building for refurbishment.
Director Graham Black and Vice-Chancellor Prof Scot Bowman tied an orange ribbon, 32 years to the day that Princess Alexandra cut the ribbon to officially open the building in 1978.
See the CQUniNews article for further details and photos: University Major library refurb - out with the orange and into the wild blue yonder.
Website update
On the website, we now have an artist's impression of the Ground Floor Library Hall, created by Caustic Pictures for Wilson Architects. It gives us a good indication of how open and light the space will look, with increased glass windows and a raised ceiling height.

Rocky library resources on the move
Thousands of library resources are on the move as staff prepare for the closure of the Rockhampton Library building (Building 10).
Books, DVDS, CDs, and other physical resources which are normally located on the top floor of the Library (Level 2) are being sorted and separated, with the more recently acquired and highly-used items temporarily located on the first floor (Level 1) until they are packed and moved by removalists to the Temporary Library at Building 39 at the end of October.
In the Library Catalogue you will notice a new location when you check the copies held - Rockhampton-Level 1.
If you can't find what you are looking for, please go to the Library Information Desk and ask for assistance.
Staff and students from other CQ Campuses can still request items located at Rockhampton or Rockhampton-Level 1 by the usual means - email, phone or in person at the information desk.
